Diversity Video Focus Group Forming NOW
***FOCUS GROUP FORMING NOW***
*Do you want to see more diversity at Burning Man?*
You aren't alone! Did you ever look around Black Rock City and wonder
why more people from your ethnic background, your heritage or your
culture aren't there? Do you think Burning Man is just "a white people
thing"? Or have you attended, found immense value in Burning Man and the
community, and want to share your experience with others?
*If you're a person of color, whatever your views, we want to hear from
you! Please join our focus group NOW.*
The DC Burner community, with support from the national Burning Man
organization, is producing a short film about racial diversity at
Burning Man. We are recruiting volunteers to participate in a two-hour
focus group about diversity at Burning Man that occur in the coming
days. This discussion will /not/ be filmed. It will be used for
editorial guidance only.
If you consider yourself a person of color (e.g. African American,
Latino, Native American, Asian, Indian), this is your chance to help
bring more diversity to Burning Man. And if you know anyone who would
like to participate, please share this and invite them to get involved!
We are looking for people of color who...
.. have heard of Burning Man, but have decided not to go
..have been to Burning Man, and are willing to share your personal
experiences

About the Diversity Project_
Jennifer Richter, Kenny Reff and Neil Takemoto from the Washington, DC
Burning Man camp "It's All Made Up" (IAMU) are spearheading a short film
on the subject of racial diversity at Burning Man. The film will feature
people of color addressing issues about cultural diversity and
acceptance on the playa, with a goal of demonstrating that Burning Man
is for everyone. We anticipate broad distribution of this video, which
is a production of the DC Burner community with support from the
national Burning Man organization.
For more information about this film, please e-mail
