Town Hall Info! Also - we need your info for projects / groups / events!

Groups audience:

Hi everyone!

Our annual DC Burners Town Hall is coming up this Thursday, April 13th! It
will be held at Local 16, 6:30 - 9:30 (or until the folks at Local 16 kick
us out).

https://www.facebook.com/events/410104679353923/

We expect the presentation to start around 7pm-ish. We're arranging it
differently this year. We're not going to give speaking time to each of the
many, many projects and groups that are filing our community with amazing
creativity. Rather, we're going to do a high level introduction of the DC
Burner Community and our culture, provide an overview about how to get
involved, spotlight some major upcoming art projects and events, how-to's
for Burning Man and Regional Festivals, and hear from some of the folks who
attended this year's Global Leadership Conference. Then we're going to
invite attendees to break out and talk to the community leaders who are
there to share information about their projects and groups.

The plan is to build on the topics of discussions at future Town Hall
events. We are a very active community year-round, thanks to all of the
great things YOU bring!

So.. here's where we need YOU! Do you have information you'd like to share
about any of the following:

- DC area Burning Man Theme Camp or Organization
- Annual or Monthly Burner events in the DC area
- Theme Camps going to Burning Man or Regional Festivals
- Art Projects that are going to Burning Man or Regional Festivals
- Calls for volunteers or campmates
- Burner Group House and upcoming activities
- Burner-run businesses
- Anything else that seems relevant to this community

If so, please send them to us at washingtondc@burningman.org

We're going to send out a series of emails to this list and the DC burner's
ANNOUNCE email lists. These emails will go out soon AFTER the Town Hall.
Please have all announcements submitted by midnight, Tuesday, April 18th.
Include the following, if relevant:
- Group / Project Name
- Website and social media
- Short description. (Seriously, a short paragraph)
- Call for action. Need volunteers or artists?
- Contact information
- Deadlines for submission
- No photos (Sorry!)

We also encourage you to make sure that your camp / project / event
information is included on the DCburners.org website. This is the place
where we send people to poke around. We know it's an eyesore at the moment,
but it's filled with lots of useful information.

And of course, if something is more pressing, by all means, send out
announcements directly to this email list yourself! That's what it's here
for! It's okay to include information twice. :)

We're here to answer questions, so please don't hesitate to reach out.

Burn brightly,
Patty

Hey Patty,
Is  there still an opportunity for Eye Street Massage Therapy to be mentioned as a burner-run business? I'm not sure how much info you could use. I'm sure you will be presenting an overwhelming amount of material, but if it can be mentioned that'd be cool! Thank you! Or, if it's best for me to bring handouts or something I could possibly do that too, but don't want to generate litter either...
Eye Street Massage Therapy is a professional group practice that has been providing quality therapeutic massage and bodywork in Washington DC for 20 years! Our licensed therapists have over 90 years of combined experience! Our goal is to assist clients with stress and pain management, and improve the quality of their lives. Eye Street Massage is owned and run by a burner Pam Moyer and she has provided job opportunities to many burners in the healing arts, who provided Reiki and energy healing services, as well as therapeutic massage.
Thank you!Pam
