Opening at Makepeace Manor, 10 P's Intentional Community, Alexandria

We have an immediate opening for a new housemate, co-creator, motivator and
instigator at Makepeace Manor! MpM is an intentional community, inspired by
the 10 Principles of Burning Man, an we have been burning brightly in
Alexandria, VA since 2010. We are located in two houses on a privately
owned acre of land, just inside the Beltway, in a rural feeling area. We
are close to Green Spring Gardens, shopping, and major travel routes, as
well as some public transportation.

As an intentional community, Makepeace residents are people who want to
live with others, pitch in and participate socially and in the upkeep of
the place, and grow from knowing each other. We also are a facility for
members of our larger community to socialize, hold events, make art, build
projects, and come together. There are three men, two women. and one cat
among our current artists-in-residence.

The room that is currently open is a large upstairs bedroom in the manor
house, with windows on three sides, a closet, and built-in drawers,
adjacent to a recently remodeled shared bath.

The monthly housing payment for this room is $850 ($750 plus $100
utilities, which are set and include heat, water, electricity, WiFi, and
hot tub chemicals).

Residents share common living space, yard, storage, hot tub, free parking,
and beautiful sunsets. Food and cooking are generally done on one's own but
communal meals and other activities are always an option where there is
interest. We currently have one cat in the main house; other pets will be
considered on a very selective basis.
