Starting at 6 pm tonight...

Groups audience:
Hello Beautiful DC Burners!

I hope you're all doing well. I wanted to provide some information about this weekend's event "Welcome to Sanctuary". Here are the basics:

WHO?

All with an open mind are invited. We are radically inclusive.

WHAT?

We hope we can serve as a platform for those who want to share their information, resources, experiences and creative processes that are in alignment with the fight against personal, institutional, and systemic oppression and the many ways in which racism takes shape in our daily lives.

WHEN?

June 5th 2020 at 6 pm to June 7th 2020 at 10 pm. Registration does not open until the start of the event.

WHERE?

This is a virtual event. Go to http://www.welcometosanctuary.org/  to gain access.

WHY?

We have a dual fold mission.

First, we want to serve as a platform for those who want to share their information, resources, experiences and creative processes that are in alignment with the fight against personal, institutional, and systemic oppression and the many ways in which racism takes shape in our daily lives.

Second, we want to provide a sanctuary environment during this struggle. If you’re feeling tired, disconnected, frustrated, or in need of a little virtual human connection, it is our hope that our sanctuary can serve as a place of regeneration and connection.

HOW?

Once you go to the page you will be asked to register or log in. Once you're in inside you can participate as fits your needs. We welcome you!

HOW MUCH?

Beyond your participation, there is no cost to attend. However, volunteers help this event happen, so please consider volunteering your time and energy if you are in a position to do so. You may volunteer here: https://tinyurl.com/wts-volunteer. You may find out that volunteering may be one of the most enjoyable parts of this event. Additional, there is an option to donate to help defray costs, and support speakers.

We look forward to seeing you!

Lot's of love to you,

~Blue

P.S. I would like to encourage everyone to think of what is going on in the world as an opportunity. It's an opportunity to think about the power *you* have to make change in a positive way.

In regard to "Welcome to Sanctuary", if you think you would want to host an event that would properly fit our focus or become somewhat of a "sanctuary space" for people, we'd love to have you. tinyurl.com/wts-eventform

We ask that all events either provide programming that highlights the issue of systemic racism and oppression, in almost any format you desire (including workshops, lectures, spoken word, singing, performances, art, music, etc) and/or provide a virtual safe or healing space for participants.
