Fwd: [regionals-list] People of Color at Burning Man

Groups audience:

FYI... I know many of the DC attendees are working on a related project,
perhaps you'll want to reach out to Scott to ask him to mention it at this
event or otherwise coordinate with him.

For anyone who is in the San Francisco Bay Area mid February we've a great
lineup of speakers for our next event!

East Bay Burners Social: People of Color at Burning Man

Burning Man is filed with white people, 87% white according to Burning
Man's own 2014 census. Remarkably, this is even a higher percentage than
the whole United States, which in 2014 was 62% white. Yet much of the
chatter in the Burner community is about diversity, inclusion and "bringing
the principles of Burning Man home". So what's going on?

What's going on is People of Color are doing Burning Man...and doing it in
a way that may surprise and likely make you envious. From founding two
large, successful theme camps to giving on-playa performances to creating a
large-scale graphic art piece, POC Burners have a story to tell.

Whether your a Veteran Burner, Virgin Burner or Burner Curious, this is a
night for you! Come learn about the POC Burner experience and join our
radically inclusive February East Bay Burners Social: People of Color at
Burning Man!
