Memorial gathering for Tiffany tonight

Groups audience:

Very sorry to share sad news with our community -- we lost one of our best
yesterday. Tiffany Joslyn was killed, along with her brother, in a car
crash in Rhode Island.

You may well have gotten to know Tiff as a crafter and coordinator of tutus
at Figment DC, or encountered her uniquely creative spirit and warmth at
PDF or Transformus and community events. Mutual friends and I introduced
her to Burnerdom and she lit up our community and became a close friend and
confidante to many. Meeting her at a late-night campfire one might not have
realized she had an incredibly exciting and impactful day job too, having
built her legal career in less than a decade to be Deputy Chief Counsel for
the House of Representatives Judiciary Crime Subcommittee. She was
passionate about criminal justice reform and was making the world a better
place for many.

We will be mourning, remembering, and celebrating the life of our beloved
friend in special ways in the days ahead and beyond. For those who are in
or near Northern Virginia where she lived, we will have an impromptu
memorial gathering tonight at Makepeace Manor, the Burner intentional arts
community she loved and supported, and where she spent much time. All are
welcome to gather by our fire.

Starting at 7:00 PM Sunday night, March 7, at Makepeace Manor, 6516
Montrose Street, Alexandria, VA 22312.

Tiffany was part of a large and loving community here, with which she
shared great warmth and light. We are so saddened by her and her brother
Derrick's loss and will send prayers and comfort to her family and extended
circles.

Comments

Thank you Brewster, for this thoughtful message, and to you and MPM and
everyone who is stepping up to celebrate Tiffany's life in the painful
process of mourning her loss. Yet another reminder that this is a
truly special community. Love and tutus to you all from FL. :'(
