Call for participation in DC Jan 24-26
Hey Burners,
Burning Man has *just* been invited to participate in the annual US
Conference of Mayors in Washington, DC, *Jan 24-26*. For those who are not
attending Love Burn, *Burning Man needs your help*!
The Mayor of Reno is hosting the closing plenary breakfast on *Friday,
January 26 from 7:30-9:30 AM*, which will be followed by a break-out
session/experience to showcase what Burning Man is all about. The purpose
of the presentation is to highlight that Burning Man is more than just a
once a year event in the desert, that it's happening all around the country
365 days a year, and that it may be happening in your city!
This is a FANTASTIC opportunity to highlight what the Burner community has
been doing in the Washington, DC metro area. Who knows what possibilities
could arise from this!
Megan Miller (Juno), the Communications Director for the Burning Man
Project, is putting together this interactive experience for the
conference. If you are interested in participating in one of the following
ways, or in any additional way that you feel would be beneficial to support
Burning Man at this conference, please contact her at
megan.miller@burningman.org.
Ways to participate:
- Contribute a small piece of BM art to be displayed throughout the
conference.
- Bring/display a mutant vehicle at the conference or on Friday morning.
- Create another type of interactive/art-based experience during the BM
session.
- Send high-resolution photos of DC Metro Burners being involved in
local Burns and community-based projects.
Additionally, Megan is planning to highlight Catharsis on the Mall and
would like to show photos of the event during her presentation. If you have
high-resolution photos you can share with her, please send them to
megan.miller@burningman.org
Let's help support Burning Man in DC!
Thank you,
Patty

Hi Patty,
While I cannot offer help with any of the above asks, I have attended
Catharsis the last two years and had a wonderful time :)
I would love to help out in any other capacity that is needed for the
event, let me know.
